Production of the first generation X2 concluded on 11 October 2023, the same day that the second generation was fully revealed with the introduction of the first ever battery electric iX2. The new U10 was presented to the public at the Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo on 26 October 2023, ahead of its sales start in early 2024. The first generation had been on the market for just over five years. The F39 had been assembled at Regensburg since 2017.
