In 2019 the X2 was in its first full year of sales, a subcompact luxury crossover based on the same front wheel drive UKL2 architecture as the X1 and the Mini Countryman, with the same 2,670 mm wheelbase. It was assembled at Regensburg alongside the X1 and was sold with sDrive and xDrive in petrol and diesel engines. The 2019 cars carried the same trim names as the X1, with M Sport and M Sport X versions being the sporty ones.
