The convertible version of the new M4, the G83, was introduced in May 2021. Global deliveries of the second generation had started in early 2021, after the first units were assembled in November 2020. The M4 of 2021 was available as a coupe and a convertible, with the standard M4 and the M4 Competition, which were unveiled together at launch. It was the first full year of the second generation M4 from the motorsport division of BMW.
