In July 2015 BMW transitioned production from the F01 to the BMW 7 Series G11, ending the fifth generation's seven years of production. The F01 and F02 had been built from 2008 as the short and long wheelbase luxury saloons, and as the ActiveHybrid 7 and High Security F03 versions, and had added six cylinder engines to the United States range. The F01 had been manufactured since 2008, and the G11 had been unveiled on 10 June 2015.
