The E65 continued through 2007 in its facelifted form, with straight six, V8 and V12 petrol engines and turbo diesels, in the short E65 and long E66 bodies, high security versions and the Alpina B7. It was in its seventh year of development and sales with the F01 successor already being prepared for the 2008 launch. The Dingolfing plant had been retooled for the E65 at a cost of about 500 million euros, and it kept building the model until 2008.
