In 2018 the 4 Series carried on in its facelifted form as the F32 coupe, F33 convertible and F36 Gran Coupe. All three bodies remained in production in their respective plants, at Munich, Regensburg and Dingolfing, and the first generation was in its fifth year. The M4 remained the performance model of the line up, and was the only M model of the range. The 4 Series therefore sat in the middle of the compact executive range, between the 3 Series saloon and the larger 6 Series coupes.
