Production of the AZ-3 stopped in March 1998 together with the Presso, because of weak sales in the specialty car market and a reorganization of the lineup with the model change of the Familia, and after that only distribution stock was sold until sales ended in June 1998. There was no successor, and the second generation Roadster was a virtual substitute. A total of 220,064 were made with the Presso. The AZ in the name AZ-3 stood for Autozam and the 3 for the size of the car.
