In 1930 the Light Six was dropped from the name and it became simply the Austin Sixteen. The coupes of the body range went first, in 1930, followed by the Weymann type fabric saloons in 1931, as the wide range of body types available at first was simplified over the years. The 16 horsepower car could reach 60 miles an hour and return about 21 miles per imperial gallon. The Light Six name was used for the last time that year.
