The Mark III models were introduced in September 1971. The Morris badged 1100 and 1300 models were discontinued on the launch of the Morris Marina in 1971, but the Austin and Vanden Plas versions remained in production in the UK until June 1974. The final British ADO16, a Vanden Plas Princess 1300, left the factory on 19 June 1974. British Leyland replaced the ADO16 variously by the Austin Maxi, the Morris Marina and the Austin Allegro. Its model years run from 1971 to 1974.
