The 2009 TSX was larger than the first, three inches wider with a longer wheelbase, and debuted with Honda's Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure. Its four-cylinder produced 201 horsepower, a few less than before, with a wider spread of power, and the automatic gained paddle shifters. In the United States it came standard with leather, dual-zone climate control, a memory driver's seat, a sunroof and Xenon headlights. Motor Trend made it a Car of the Year finalist.
