The 2003 TL had only minor changes to make way for a redesign. The one odd addition was a General Motors OnStar subscription cell phone and navigation assistance service offered alongside the DVD navigation option, which relied on an analog cellular network and stopped working in 2009. Some 2002 and 2003 cars were recalled in July 2009 for faulty driver's side airbag inflators, and again in February 2010.
