Acura SLX (first generation)

Automobiles

The SLX was Acura's stop-gap SUV, an Isuzu Trooper with a few upgrades and Acura badges, sold only in the United States. It left out some Trooper options, among them the manual transmission and some of the engines. For 1996 and 1997 it was available only with a 3.2 litre SOHC or DOHC V6, and for 1998 it received the new 3.5 litre DOHC V6 along with a restyled front end. Sales stayed weak, and the SLX was discontinued after 1999.
