The 1996 Acura SLX was the first model year of the rebadged Isuzu Trooper, sold only in the United States as Acura's first SUV. For 1996 it came only with a 3.2 litre V6, with either a single or a double overhead camshaft. It left out some options from the Isuzu, such as the manual transmission. In Japan the same Isuzu was sold by Honda as the Horizon from 1994, under a General Motors, Isuzu and Honda partnership.
