Acura freshened the MDX for the 2017 model year, putting it on sale in June 2016 with the diamond pentagon grille first shown on the Precision Concept and aluminum front fenders to save weight. AcuraWatch safety equipment became standard on every trim. The 2017 MDX Sport Hybrid, with a 3.0 litre V6, a dual-clutch gearbox and three electric motors giving 321 horsepower, went on sale in April 2017, available in Technology and Advance grades.
