The 2005 Acura EL was the last model year of the car. Although it was the best-selling Acura in Canada, Honda announced that it would discontinue the EL, and in 2006 the CSX was confirmed as its replacement. The CSX, like the EL, was sold only in Canada. The 2005 car kept the 1.7 litre VTEC engine with 127 horsepower and the restyled front and rear it had gained in 2004, as well as its premium and touring trims, and it remained a model built only in Canada.
