World-class cruise ship

Passenger and Ocean Liner Vessels

The World class is a series of large cruise ships being built by Chantiers de l'Atlantique at Saint-Nazaire for MSC Cruises. The lead ship, MSC World Europa, was delivered in October 2022 and the second, MSC World America, in March 2025, with more ships planned through 2031. MSC announced the class in 2016 and designed every ship to run on liquefied natural gas. Each ship is about 330 metres long and 47 metres wide with a Y-shaped hull; MSC World Europa measures 215,863 gross tons and is the first ship to carry an LNG-powered solid oxide fuel cell demonstrator. The class follows MSC's Meraviglia and Seaside classes and is one of the largest cruise ship groups in the world.
