The Vibrant Express is the high-speed train fleet of Hong Kong's MTR, used on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link between West Kowloon and Guangzhou South. CSR Qingdao Sifang, which merged into CRRC Qingdao Sifang while the order was being built, supplied nine 8-car trainsets based on the CRH380A Hexie design for China Railway. The sets were delivered in 2016 and 2017 under a contract worth HK$1.74 billion and are built from aluminium alloy with fibre-reinforced plastic nose cones. They are fitted with two classes of seats and, unlike the mainland sets, have no business class or buffet car because the route is short.
