The TR2 was a single generation, the production successor to the Triumph 20TS prototype that was revealed at the 1952 London Motor Show, and it was most commonly available in open two seater form. In 1955 the more powerful TR3, with a redesigned grille and a GT package that included a factory hard top, replaced it. The TR2 was campaigned in the Mille Miglia, the Ulster TT, the Alpine and the Monte Carlo rallies among others between 1954 and 1955. Its model years run from 1953 to 1955.
