The Standard Atlas was a light van made by the Standard Motor Company, presented in 1958 as the firm's contender in the crowded small van sector against the BMC J-Type, Ford Thames 400E, Commer FC and Bedford CA. It was sold as a panel van and as a pickup, and as the Atlas 10 cwt and 12 cwt in Britain, and for some export markets such as Canada and the United States it carried a Triumph badge. The first version used the 948 cc petrol engine of the Standard Ten and was woefully slow; from 1961 a 1,670 cc petrol engine was available, and later 15 and 20 cwt versions took the 2,138 cc engine or a Leyland diesel. After the Leyland takeover it was renamed the Leyland 15 and 20, and after British production ended in 1968 its tooling went to India, where Standard Motors of Chennai built it until 1980.
