The Class E el-8 was a Soviet diesel-electric locomotive built by Krupp in 1933, with Sulzer engines and electrical equipment from Secheron of Geneva. Its power plant was two Sulzer 8LV31 straight-eight diesel engines placed side by side with a gangway between them, an arrangement patented by Eugen Zbinden and Sulzer in 1927. Each engine delivered 750 horsepower at its continuous rating, a total of 1,500 horsepower, while the traction motors had a total rating of 1,200 horsepower. English Wikipedia says that no details of the locomotive in service are available and that it is not known to have been preserved, so this entry rests on that short account of a single imported machine and the record of its builder and equipment.
