The Scammell Super Constructor was a cross-country heavy vehicle introduced in the mid 1950s, fitted with a Rolls-Royce C6 turbocharged engine and a semi-automatic gearbox, and described by the Scammell Register as the forerunner of today's cross-country heavies. It followed the Constructor, which was in production in various forms by 1952 as Scammell took on heavy construction, oil drilling, mining and logging work. In the late 1970s the S24 range replaced the Super Constructor as an oilfield flatbed vehicle: a long-wheelbase S24 6x6 with the Constructor winch and body was built to take over that role.
