The Rover 8 was Rover's first production car, a small single cylinder 8 horsepower car of 1327 cubic centimeters made from 1904 to 1912, designed by Edmund Lewis who had come from Daimler and remarkable for its backbone frame. A Daimler Knight sleeve valve engine option came in 1911. After the First World War a new twin cylinder light car with the same name was offered from 1919 to 1925. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 2 generations: the First Rover 8 (1904 to 1912); the Postwar Rover 8 (1919 to 1925).
