The Silver Cloud was the core model of the Rolls-Royce range from April 1955 to March 1966, replacing the Silver Dawn and replaced in turn by the Silver Shadow. John P. Blatchley's design was a major change from the pre-war models, on a body on frame construction that allowed special coachbuilt versions, and the Bentley S1 was made essentially identical apart from its grille and badging. It ran through Series I, II with a new V8 in 1959, and III in 1962. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 3 generations: the Silver Cloud (1955 to 1959); the Silver Cloud II (1959 to 1962); the Silver Cloud III (1962 to 1966).
