Riley RME

The Riley RME was an improved RMA launched in 1952 and sold as the Riley 1.5 Litre. It kept the 1.5 litre four-cylinder engine but gained fully hydraulic brakes, a larger curved rear window and a changed rear axle ratio to help acceleration. After the RMF ended production in October 1953 the RME was revised again, losing its running boards and gaining new front wings. A car tested by The Motor in 1952 reached 75 mph. The RME was discontinued in 1955 and was succeeded in 1957 by the unrelated BMC-designed Riley One-Point-Five.
