The Riley RMD was a traditional two-door drophead cabriolet based on the RMB and the last cabriolet Riley made. It used the same 2.5 litre, 100 hp Big Four engine as the RMB. The model was first shown in October 1948 at the Earls Court Motor Show in London, and just over 500 were produced between 1949 and 1951. Together with the RMC roadster it formed the limited-production open end of the RM series, whose other cars were the RMA, RMB, RME and RMF saloons.
