Renault CBH

The Renault CBH is a heavy three-axle construction truck in 6x4 and 6x6 versions. It is the new name, at Renault Vehicules industriels, of the Berliet GBH 260, whose chassis and entire drive train it takes over, down to the logo on the grille. It is the worthy successor to the GBH, from which it originally took the engine and drive train; during its career it was fitted first with engines inherited from Berliet and then with Renault engines of 10 and 12 litres with intercooled turbocharging, with power ranging from 210 to 385 horsepower. Intended above all for building sites, with a tipper or a concrete mixer for example, it comes as a rigid or a tractor in 4x2, 4x4, 6x4 and 6x6 layouts. Very robust and reliable, it nevertheless gave way to forward-cab trucks judged more manoeuvrable. In its military versions the French army used the CBH 320 6x4 for the engineers and the CBH 385 6x6 for the fuel service, still in service in 2025 as a heavy breakdown truck.
