Pontiac 6000

Automobiles

The Pontiac 6000 is a mid-size car that was sold by Pontiac from the 1982 to 1991 model years. As Pontiac downsized its mid-size range, the 6000 was the successor of the Pontiac LeMans, which continued as a downsized Pontiac Bonneville. It was initially offered as a two-door and four-door notchback sedan, and a five-door station wagon was introduced for 1984. During the 1980s Pontiac was moving toward numeric model names, and the 6000 became the largest model line to use them. It used the front-wheel-drive GM A platform, shared with the Buick Century and Chevrolet Celebrity.
