Sales of the second generation Neon started with the 2000 model year, and it was only available as a four door sedan. In some global sales regions, including the United States, the sole engine was the 2.0 liter SOHC engine, the power output remaining at 132 horsepower. It was advertised as having over 1,000 refinements from the original generation. 2001 was the last year for the Plymouth Neon, and the Plymouth brand as well. Its model years run from 2000 to 2001.
