Pfalz D.III

The Pfalz D.III was a German single-seat biplane fighter and the first major original design from Pfalz Flugzeugwerke, entering service in late 1917. Though generally regarded as less capable than the contemporary Albatros and Fokker fighters, it was built in significant numbers and flown widely by German fighter squadrons through much of 1918. As newer types reached the front it was relegated to training duties for the remainder of the war.
