Packard 300

Automobiles

The Packard 300 was the upper mid-range Packard of the 1951 and 1952 model years, built by the Packard Motor Car Company of Detroit, Michigan. It replaced the Super Eight and sat above the junior 200 and 250 lines and below the Patrician 400, positioned against rivals such as the Buick Roadmaster and the Cadillac Series 61. It was sold only as a four-door sedan on a 127 inch wheelbase, with the 327 cubic inch Thunderbolt straight eight that it shared with the 250, a wraparound rear window and the cormorant hood ornament. Packard built 22,309 of them across the two years, 15,309 of those in 1951. For 1953 the car was renamed the Cavalier as Packard moved away from numeric model names.
