The Opel Trixx is a three-metre concept city car that Opel unveiled at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show. Opel chief executive Carl-Peter Forster set the brief for the Opel and Saab design studios, which were led by design director Martin Smith and chief designer Stefan Arndt, and the car was built by Carrozzeria Coggiola in Italy. It has an asymmetrical door layout with sliding doors and a sliding roof hatch for bulky cargo, a cycle rack hidden in the pull-out rear bumper, and the Flex 3 layout that seats three adults and one child on a folding seat or becomes a single-seater with a 1,010 litre luggage area; the rear passenger seat is inflatable to save space. A 1.3 litre common rail diesel gives a claimed top speed of 70 mph. The concept influenced later small Opel cars such as the 2007 Agila, and the electric follow-up expected in 2009 never appeared.
