Oasis-class cruise ship

Passenger and Ocean Liner Vessels

The Oasis class is a group of Royal Caribbean International cruise ships that, from 2009, set the record for the largest passenger ships afloat. The first two, Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, came from the Turku yard in Finland; the later hulls were built in Saint-Nazaire by Chantiers de l'Atlantique, then trading as STX France, starting with Harmony of the Seas in 2016 and followed by Symphony, Wonder and Utopia of the Seas, with a seventh ordered for 2028. The design splits the ship around open-air neighbourhoods such as Central Park and the Boardwalk, and carries well over 5,000 guests. Power comes from six marine diesel generating sets feeding three Azipod electric thrusters, and the telescoping funnels let the ships pass under the Great Belt bridge. Later ships are slightly larger, and the sixth is said to need about a quarter less energy than the first.
