Based on the Minica, the tall three door Minica Toppo was introduced in February 1990. It was developed before the new kei regulations were final, so it ended up four centimeters shorter than other kei cars, which Mitsubishi fixed with a minor facelift in January 1992. It had the new 657 cc 3G83 engine with optional four wheel drive and was sold as a commercial vehicle and a better equipped passenger car. Its model years run from 1990 to 1993.
