The fourth generation Outlander debuted on 16 February 2021, two thirds of a year after its Nissan Rogue counterpart, and was released in 2021 as a 2022 model. It takes inspiration from the GT-PHEV concept of 2016 and the Engelberg Tourer concept of 2019. It was introduced in Australia in November 2021, and the second generation Outlander PHEV went on sale in North America in 2022 as a 2023 model. From 2026 a version is supplied to Nissan as the Rogue Plug-in Hybrid. Its model years run from 2021 to 2026.
