The Turnpike Cruiser was a top level Mercury series for the 1957 and 1958 model years, named to commemorate the Interstate Highway System and derived from the 1956 Mercury XM Turnpike Cruiser concept car. It was built as a two door and four door hardtop, with a convertible in limited numbers that paced the Indianapolis 500 in 1957. For 1958 it was phased into the Montclair line and the Park Lane took the top role. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (1957 to 1958).
