The Mercury Marauder nameplate made its debut in 1963 and a half as a model of each of the three Mercury full size series: the Monterey, Monterey Custom and S-55. It was offered only as a two door pillarless hardtop, styled with a conventional sloping notchback roofline shared with the Ford Galaxie and optimized for stock car racing. For 1964 four door versions were added, and for 1965 it became a trim option. Its model years run from 1963 to 1965.
