The W176 is the internal designation of the third generation of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, a range of five-door hatchbacks that Daimler AG built under the Mercedes-Benz brand from July 2012 to May 2018. It was shown at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and moved the A-Class from the supermini segment into the compact C-segment for the first time in fifteen years, with no three-door body offered. It was the second car on the front-wheel-drive Modular Front Architecture platform, after the W246 B-Class, and was sold only with petrol and diesel engines. A facelift followed in 2015, and the W177 replaced it in 2018. The page cited here also records that it was built at Rastatt and later in Finland.
