The McLaren MP4-25 is the Formula One racing car that McLaren designed and raced in the 2010 season, powered by a customer Mercedes-Benz engine. Paddy Lowe, Neil Oatley, Tim Goss, Andrew Bailey and John Iley designed the chassis. Jenson Button, the 2009 world champion, and Lewis Hamilton, the 2008 champion, drove it, and it was unveiled at Vodafone headquarters in Newbury on 29 January 2010. It was the first McLaren built independently by the team alone, after the works Mercedes team returned by buying 75 percent of Brawn GP. Its rear wing used the controversial F-duct, a cockpit duct that stalled the wing at speed and added several miles per hour on straights.
