The McLaren MP4/15 was the Formula One car that the McLaren-Mercedes team used in the 2000 World Championship. Adrian Newey, Steve Nichols, Neil Oatley and Henri Durand designed the chassis, and Mario Illien designed the bespoke Ilmor engine. The car won seven races, the same number as its predecessor the MP4/14, but Ferrari and its F1-2000 narrowly took both championships. The team lost ten constructors points at the Austrian Grand Prix after an FIA seal was found missing, with no evidence of tampering. Mika Häkkinen and David Coulthard used differently shaped steering wheels, and the car carried four gearshift paddles, two for gear selection and two for the clutch.
