The McLaren MP4/11 was the car with which McLaren competed in the 1996 Formula One World Championship, the second year of its Mercedes-Benz and Ilmor engine arrangement. Mika Häkkinen, in his third full season with the team, and David Coulthard, who had moved from Williams, drove it. Its best result was a close second place for Coulthard at Monaco, and a B version of the chassis arrived at Silverstone, after which Häkkinen took four podium finishes. McLaren finished fourth in the Constructors Championship with 49 points. It was the last year of Marlboro sponsorship, and in 1998 one MP4/11 was converted into the two seat McLaren MP4-98T.
