The McLaren MCL-HY is an LMDh sports prototype that McLaren designed to race in the Hypercar category of the FIA World Endurance Championship from 2027. McLaren announced its intention to enter the class on 10 April 2025 and shared the programme details on 13 June, naming Dallara as chassis supplier, Autotecnica Motori as engine manufacturer and United Autosports as the team to run the cars. A full-scale concept model was shown at the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans, and a revised car carrying the MCL-HY name, matching the MCL prefix of the Formula One cars, was presented on 4 May 2026 before private track testing. A track-only version, the MCL-HY GTR, is being developed under the Project: Endurance customer programme and will be sold through McLaren Automotive.
