The McLaren M4B was a Formula One racing car that Trojan constructed for Bruce McLaren Motor Racing and that Bruce McLaren raced five times at the start of 1967. It was based on the M4A Formula 2 car as a stopgap between the M2B and the M5A, with extra fuel tanks beside the cockpit to run a full Grand Prix distance and a cut-away rear end to take a 2.0 litre BRM type 56-2 V8 engine. At the Monaco Grand Prix its short wheelbase made it surprisingly competitive, and McLaren finished fourth for the first points of the chassis that season. The car was later repaired but caught fire during a test at Goodwood and was written off.
