The McLaren M18 is an open-wheel Formula 5000 racing car that McLaren designed and made in 1971. It was conceived to take part in the 1971 Formula 5000 season as the replacement for the M10. A 470 hp Chevrolet V8 powered it, driving the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. The car was entrusted to the driver Brian Redman but did not have the hoped-for success, winning only two of the 16 championship races that year.
