McLaren M10

Automobiles

The McLaren M10 was a Formula 5000 race car chassis that competed in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand between 1969 and 1973. It was made in large numbers, built close to the weight limit so that it was very light, and powered by a Chevrolet V8 engine of more than 500 hp. The cars were not manufactured by McLaren itself but by the British racing car manufacturer Trojan, which completed and delivered 17 of the 50 originally ordered. The M10 was the only Formula 5000 car to win the North American Formula 5000 Championship twice, with John Cannon in 1970 and David Hobbs in 1971.
