The first generation Nautilus, the U540, was released as the mid cycle revision of the second generation MKX in November 2017 for the 2019 model year. It was the counterpart of the updated Ford Edge, slotted between the Aviator and the MKC, later the Corsair, and based on the CD4 platform, manufactured at Oakville Assembly in Ontario. For 2021 it was refreshed with a larger touchscreen. Its model years run from 2019 to 2023.
