The Lima LRS-1200, which Lima-Hamilton listed under specification number A-3174, was a 1,200 horsepower B-B diesel locomotive built in 1950. All sixteen units were made for the New York Central. A second order for seventeen was still open when Lima-Hamilton merged with Baldwin, and because there was no time left to build them at Lima, the railroad took Baldwin RS-12 locomotives from Eddystone, Pennsylvania instead. Most of the LRS-1200 fleet left service in the mid 1960s. Two carried on into the Penn Central era and were rebuilt with EMD 567C engines before being retired in 1974 and 1975, and none survives today.
