Ligier Optima

Automobiles

The Ligier Optima is a four-wheeled, two-seater microcar manufactured from 1987 to about 1995 by Ligier, the street vehicle branch of the French Formula One manufacturer Equipe Ligier. A four-seat version, the Optima 4, was offered from 1993 until 1995. The car was originally introduced as the Ligier Serie 7 and renamed Optima in 1989; it replaced the Serie 5, the last development of a line that began with the boxy Ligier JS4. Most Optimas are voitures sans permis, light vehicles that need no driving licence, and Ligier also offered more powerful versions for limited licences.
