The Ligier JS7 was a Formula One racing car manufactured by Ligier. As with the preceding JS5, the letters JS in the name were a tribute to Guy Ligier's friend Jo Schlesser, who was killed in the 1968 French Grand Prix. It belongs to the first generation of cars that Equipe Ligier built after it entered Formula One in 1976, between the team's first car, the JS5, and the cars that followed it in the late 1970s. The Ligier team went on to win its first Grand Prix in 1977 with the driver Jacques Laffite.
