The Ligier JS43 was the car with which the Ligier team competed in the 1996 Formula One World Championship. It was driven by the Frenchman Olivier Panis, who was in his third season with the team, and the Brazilian Pedro Diniz, who moved from Forti. The JS43 was the last Ligier-named Formula One car, since the team that Guy Ligier had founded and that entered the championship in 1976 ended its independent existence after that season. It followed the JS41 of 1995 and the JS39 of 1993 and 1994 in the team's final period.
