The Ligier JS4 is a four-wheeled, two-seater microcar that Ligier manufactured from 1980 to 1983. It was the road-car branch of the Formula One maker Equipe Ligier that built it, and it marked a change in priorities after the company had recently ended production of the Ligier JS2 sports car. It is a voiture sans permis, a light vehicle that did not require a driving licence and was therefore popular with the elderly, the young and people who had lost their driving privileges. The JS4 was first presented on 25 July 1980 and began a line of boxy Ligier microcars.
